Genuine belief according to the Bible is defined as obedience to God.

The apostle Paul wrote, "But they have not all obeyed the gospel, for Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report" (Rom.10:16)? Scripture also says, "Even so faith (belief), if it hath not works (obedient action), is dead, being alone"
