Learning a foreign language can prove to be a really enjoyable but irksome experience. Accelerate your learning or making the whole learning method more enjoyable is a valuable weapon in the whole process. In this article, we will share few helpful and unique tips of making the process easier.

It is easier to memorize rhyming poetry rather then memorizing the whole prose. For example, look at the following two sections:

Text 1

The sky is blue. I am sitting on the beach. A bully comes and kicks sand on my face. It is too bad for him! Here comes my bodyguard!

Text 2

One, two the sky so blue. Three, four, a sandy shore. Five, six, a bully kicks. Seven, eight, he has sealed his fate. Nine, ten, here comes my gunman!

Did you notice that you have already started guessing what will come next in the second text.

You might be thinking, what affect doest this example have for learning a foreign language?

The example shows that you can accelerate your foreign language learning graph, if you will memorize modern, well-written foreign language poetry.

Do not use words that were used ages ago. For example, if you start using ‘thee’ and ‘thou’ in daily speech, no nobody will be able to understand you. Therefore, search the internet for poetry written by modern writers. For this, you should be able to substitute all the search terms as per their requirement with the name of the specific language you are studying. Ask your tutor, professor or other knowledgeable person to review the webpage you have found in order to determine the grammar and vocabulary errors.

Try to get some poetry dictated and recorded by a native language speaker. Recite all the poetry softly while listening to the recordings. This practice will prove to be a good way to improve your verbalization skills. You may also get some online audios for some poetry.

If you are a budding poet, then try to create all the foreign language poems yourself. Do not worry about grammatical errors. Only definitions, pronunciation, spelling and gender will do. If you have some audio dictionary saved in your computer, then listen to the pronunciation of each word very carefully. You will also find some really good audio dictionaries on internet.
