When practicing homeschooling for your child, it is crucial to give adequate importance to other schooling activities. Organizing field trips is one such important activity. If you get the feeling that having a field trip will be particularly beneficial to make your child understand a subject better, then you should go ahead with the plan without a second thought. In case, you are attached to a support group, then you can also plan to include other children in the activity. Following are some of the guidelines that might help you to plan a fruitful field trip :

1.Get information about the rates per enterant.

2.Enquire about the age-groups allowed.

3.Try to obtain information about the special highlights of a particular field trip.

4.Size of the group that is permissible for a particular trip.

5.The timings and the eating facilities that are provided in the trip.

You should ensure that you inform your child's support group well in advance so that there are no last-minute problems. Make sure you arrange to meet with the other children and parents at a particular place on a specific time, on the appointed day. It is better if you plan the mode of travel a few days in advance and reach the place at least fifteen minutes in advance.

Make a proper note of the fact that the field trip is not just a fun exercise but an educational event. Hence, make sure that the kids are carrying their own writing material. It is of primary importance that you let the children observe and learn at their own pace instead of asking them to hurry up. One should also collect ample data and information beforehand inorder to clear any possible doubts. Hiring an able guide, is also a good idea. Remember that the field trip is an eductional as well as a fun event and the primary essence of 'enjoying yourself' should not be lost.
