The philosophy of education is nothing but an acute study of the ideals of education. This can be easily known keeping in mind the context of education and using the knowledge further for societal institution as well as in the whole process of the existence of human being. With the help of education one can determine various aspects like physical, emotional, cognitive and transcendental experiences of the existence of a human being to the fullest.

Plato was amongst the earliest educational thinkers of the world. He was the one who gave the theory that education is the key to creating and sustaining his Republic. Here are some of the quotes by this great philosopher on the education prospect:

“All things will be produced in superior quantity and quality, and with greater ease, when each man works at a single occupation, in accordance with his natural gifts, and at the right moment, without meddling with anything else.”

“Entire ignorance is not so terrible or extreme an evil, and is far from being the greatest of all; too much cleverness and too much learning, accompanied with ill bringing-up, are far more fatal.”

He advocate some of the extreme methods that were excepted in the society but with extreme difficulties. These methods were: In order to give perfect education, the child should removed from the mother's care and should be raised as the wards of the state rather than growing in the shade of mother's care! He emphasized on giving great care to children of different caste and culture so that they can care for the less able people of the society.
He considered holistic, including facts, skills, physical discipline, and music and art aspects as prime of all.
Another immensely famous education thinker was Aristotle. His quotes:
“A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side.”

“Anyone can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right person at the right time, and for the right purpose and in the right way - that is not within everyone's power and that is not easy.”

He placed a lot of emphasis on balancing the theoretical and practical aspects of all the subjects that are taught to a child.

He gave emphasis to subjects like reading, writing and mathematics; music; physical education; literature and history; and a wide range of sciences. “Play” also comes in the good books of Aristotle.
