The results are in, and Land Rover Range Rover Evoque won Best Truck for 2012 by Autoweek. The newest and smallest Range Rover is classified as an SUV, which falls under the truck category. Hundreds of vehicles go through rigorous evaluation by Autoweek editors, and this year, the 2012 Evoque Orlando won the hearts of the judges.

To be eligible, a vehicle has to be all new or substantially new for the model year, so no cars with minor styling facelifts or small mechanical updates will be considered. Final evaluations mirror as closely as possible the Autoweek Reader Fantasy Camp criteria, grading drivetrain, ride quality, handling, exterior and interior design and fun factor. Points are tallied for each vehicle; the winners are those that get the most points, that winner being the Evoque.

"We love Range Rovers for their on-road manners as much as for their off-road prowess, and the Evoque carries on that tradition," Raynal said. "Despite its diminutive size and four-cylinder powerplant, the Evoque is as much a Range Rover as any of its bigger brothers."

The Evoque ousted tough luxury competition in the category, and has been scoping up awards left and right since its debut. This little guy has great horsepower with a turbocharged engine that still delivers good fuel efficiency.

Whether you interested in a used Land Rover or new Evoque, expect great off-road capabilities and luxury amenities inside the cabin.
